  • The Williams Institute is a national research organization at UCLA School of Law dedicated to advancing sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy through research and scholarship.

    Our new Counsel will provide legal research and analysis related to litigation, legislation, and regulatory and policy developments concerning issues of sexual orientation and gender identity, particularly at the federal level. The Counsel will also provide public education, work with LGBT advocates and stakeholder groups around the country, and work on independent research projects to inform current issues of law and public policy.     We are looking for a lawyer with three to seven years of relevant work experience who has a deep knowledge of law and policy related to sexual orientation and gender identity and a commitment to LGBT issues. The successful candidate must have stellar analytical and oral and written communications skills and be able to work autonomously and take initiative in undertaking projects to respond to fast-breaking legal and policy developments. An understanding of social science research is a plus.
