Santa Clara County La Raza Lawyers Association (SCCLRLA) has joined other Latino-serving national civil rights and legal bar organizations in filing an amicus curiae brief in Trump v. Barbara, a case concerning birthright citizenship. The brief was filed by LatinoJustice PRLDEF and urges the Court to uphold the constitutional guarantee of birthright citizenship under the United States Constitution and to reject efforts by the executive branch to unilaterally redefine citizenship through executive action.
This case goes to the heart of the 14th Amendment and the longstanding principle that all children born in the United States are citizens. In joining this brief, SCCLRLA stands in solidarity with partner organizations across the country to defend the fundamental rights and dignity of our community.
