Job Opening: Litigation Associate

Hopkins & Carley, a full service law firm with offices in Palo Alto and downtown San Jose, has an immediate opening for a Litigation Associate in its San Jose office.  We seek candidates with 2-4 years of business litigation skills.   Strong research, legal analysis, and writing skills are required.  We seek candidates that are proven self-starters as well as possessing the ability to work as part of a larger team. Job Opening: Family Wealth and Tax Associate

Hopkins & Carley, a full service law firm with offices in Palo Alto and downtown San Jose, has an immediate opening for an associate in its Family Wealth and Tax Planning group.  The ideal candidate will have 4 – 6 years’ experience.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, interesting practice group, that will provide substantial client contact and practice development.  We seek candidates with immediately transferrable skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and outstanding academic credentials.  Candidates should have a working knowledge of income, estate and gift taxes.  Candidates should be highly motivated, self-starters, possessing good judgment and sound reasoning skills.  An LLM in taxation is preferred, but not required.  Candidate must be admitted to practice law in California. Job Opening: Technology Licensing and Commercial Associate

Hopkins & Carley, a full service law firm with offices in Palo Alto and downtown San Jose, has an immediate opening for a Technology Licensing and Commercial Attorney with 3-6 years of relevant experience representing emerging growth technology companies through all stages of their life-cycle.  We are seeking candidates that have experience working on a variety of technology and commercial transactions such as software licenses, SaaS agreements, development, and professional services agreements, reseller and distribution agreements. Experienced Litigation Associate

Hopkins & Carley, a full service law firm with offices in Palo Alto and downtown San Jose, has an immediate opening in the San Jose location for a litigation associate to join our experienced group of trial attorneys litigating elder financial abuse, breach of fiduciary duty and other trust and estate cases.  We seek candidates with 6+ years of solid litigation experience, but prior expertise in the particular subject matter of this field is not required.  Interested candidates must have experience appearing in court, taking and defending depositions, mediations, and strong analytical and writing skills.  Trial experience is not required, but a plus; the candidate must be willing to develop trial experience.  Ideal candidates will have some experience, or at least a strong  interest in learning, some or all of the following areas:  financial elder abuse, breach of fidiciuary duties, real estate, will or trust contests, title to or interest in business entities, recovery of assets, removal of trustees, and fiduciary accounting and conservatorships.  Candidates must be a current member of the State of California in good standing.  Please send cover letter and resume to: AttorneyRecruiting@hopkinscarley.com.
